世界各国で片山工業に関わる社員は約800人。家族を含めると多くの人が関わっていることになります。片山工業では利益を追求するだけではなく、社会や地元地域へ貢献する活動を行っています。

地元の資源や素材を活かす活動から地域の皆様と共に作り上げるイベントまで。多種多様な時代と共に歩めるよう、自動車部品という枠にとらわれないサスティナブル経営で社会・地域に貢献できる企業を目指します。

おもいやりサービス
「おもいやり弁当」

2011年6月にサービスを開始。地元の食材を中心に調理した安心・安全な「おもいやり弁当」は、1食、塩分3g以下、平均360kcal。１日の野菜摂取目標量350gの約４割10種類前後の野菜が入ったお弁当です。保存や調理方法にもこだわり、健康で豊かな暮らしのお手伝いを約束します。

高齢化が進む井原市への社会貢献と、来るべき超高齢化社会に向けた幸せづくりをコンセプトに、お弁当の宅配を始め、あらゆるニーズを掘り起こしながら様々なサービスに取り組んでいます。

井原デニムを使った
「井原デニムの制服」

世界で認められている岡山県井原市特産の井原デニムのオリジナル生地を使った制服を導入。環境に配慮した染色スタイル「倉敷染め」の濃紺のジャケットとズボンを採用しました。制服のデザインテーマは「誰にでも着こなせるオーセンティックなデザインに作業効率を考慮したカッティングを落とし込んだワークウェア」。機能性とデザイン性の高いワークウェアを実現させています。さらに社員からのリクエストに応え色落ちしない・作業時に静電気が起きない・吸汗速乾性がある・軽量の特性もプラスしています。

打ち上げ花火が恒例
「夏祭り」

片山工業が開催する夏祭りの出店は、各部署が企画しています。かき氷、射的、フランクフルトなど様々な出店で地域の方を迎えます。さらには子どもから大人まで自由に参加できるイベントも多数用意。社員の家族はもちろん、地域の方にも楽しんでいただけるイベントとなっています。

夏祭りのメインともいえる打ち上げ花火は地元では知らない人はいないほど。地域の方への感謝の気持ちを込めて夏の空に打ち上げています。

Katayama’s newly remodeled employee cafeteria was opened in October 2020.

The new menu includes a buffet lunch designed to support employee health and well-being. The kitchen where Katayama Employee Welfare Services (Omoiyari Service) is located was expanded and the equipment updated. Design of the new cafeteria was undertaken by the design company Cifaka, located in Okayama City.

The interior of the new cafeteria was inspired by the Ibara City symbol of a diamond. All interior material was selected from the Okayama region to provide a contemporary, yet homey, atmosphere. Menus and the buffet are changed daily using locally grown ingredients. In addition, four different locally grown green teas are served, so that company personnel do not get bored by eating the same food repeatedly.

Logo and Uniform UpdatesIn 2021 the Katayama logo was redesigned to reflect our profile as a global company. A major aim of this new design logo was to encapsulate our continued effort to advance our company philosophy of ‘Simple,’ ‘Sincere,’ and ‘Global.’ The work of redesigning the logo was undertaken by M. Arthur Gensler Jr. & Associates, Inc. Alongside the logo update, Katayama’s uniform design was renewed by textile designer, Kazuya Sawada.

New Childcare CenterMr. Katayama heard from his female employees that it would be convenient for them to have a childcare facility on the company campus, he immediately decided to set up a company-supported daycare facility on company grounds. One year later, the Omoiyari Day Care Center was opened. This center is operated by Kids Corporation Inc. Children who are accepted are employees’ children or grandchildren. By establishing a childcare facility, Katayama created an inviting work environment. Now employees and employee families are able to work worry free in the company and in house, as they are assured their children will be well cared for.

Health InsuranceFrom October 2021, a health insurance program will be made available to every employee. In an effort to enhance our employees’ awareness of their personal health and well-being, the insurance benefits are scaled to the company-set health standard. Not only employees but also their families can join this health insurance system. Reduced premiums apply because the rate for premiums is lower for groups.

Female Benefit InitiativeA global survey has reported that, worldwide, females may struggle financially to purchase sanitary products. When Mr. Katayama realized that these female-only needs are additional to the needs of males, he decided to establish a Female Benefit in order to achieve financial equality between male and female employees. Since April 2021, female employees have received a monthly allowance of 1,000 yen in addition to their normal wage. This will continue until their retirement.
